Dr. Duc LePresident
Dr. Duc Le is the newly minted President-Elect with Hope For Tomorrow. Dr. Duc is a season emergency room doctor with over 20 years of experience. In his leisure, Dr. Duc takes his family on mini-vacations. He likes to host small poker tournaments for fun. His favorite hobby is kicking back and relaxing with a cold drink.
Dr. Quyen Dang
Dr. Quyen DangVice President for Operations & Special Projects
Dr. Quyen Dang is the Vice President for Operations & Specials Projects. Dr. Quyen’s specialty is putting ad-hoc projects together to help those in need after natural disasters and other uncontrollable events. In his leisure, you will find Dr. Quyen with his sports motorcycle attempting to breach the sound barriers.
Mr. Hung Nguyen

Mr. Hung has been with Hope For Tomorrow since 2005. He participated in Hope For Tomorrow International Mission # 1 in 2005. In his leisure, Mr. Hung is an amateur-professional master chef. His culinary skills and masterful presentation styles has earned him the title of Iron Chef Rockville.
Mr. Thang Do

Mr. Thang Do is the Immediate Past-President with Hope For Tomorrow, 2015 – 2017. Mr. Thang was the third President of Hope For Tomorrow. In his spare time, Mr. Thang is known to be an amateur myth buster. As a seasoned engineer, Mr. Thang can re-engineer and over engineer anything you might need/want.
Dr. Thi Nguyen

Prior to being elected as Hope for Tomorrow’s Director of Compliances & Ethics, Dr. Thi served as the President, Treasurer and a member of the dental leadership team. Dr. Thi is in private practice. Aside from her charity works, Dr. Thi is raising a family of three beautiful children and two dogs.
Mr. Loc Nguyen

Mr. Loc Nguyen wears multiple hats within Hope For Tomorrow. In addition to being Director of Finance, Mr. Loc is the chief engineer helping to design Hope For Tomorrow’s dental equipments and setup. In his leisure, Mr. Loc is a dedicated carpenter and craftsman. He makes an incredible Bun Bo (spicy beef noodle soup).
Dr. Anna Abel
Dr. Anna AbelDirector of Missions
Dr. Anna Abel is passionate about helping others. She took on the leading role to organize the domestic free dental clinics and the international missions. Through these missions came her second passion, mentoring students. Dr. Abel encourages and motivates these students to find their life’s purpose. Regardless of the field the studends are interested in, Dr. Abel guides them through the Hope For Tomorrow’s mentoring program. She loves her job as a dentist and continues to learn new things everyday including technologies that are impacting the dentistry industry. Dr. Abel is a firm believer in prayers and God is the center of her life.
Mr. Chau Nguyen

Mr. Chau Nguyen has been with Hope For Tomorrow since the very beginning. Mr. Chau wears multiple hats. Primarily, he helps with fundraising and designing Hope For Tomorrow’s marketing materials. In his leisure, you will find Mr. Chau going to school and take classes each semester. He is a dedicated student for life. Aside from being a student, Mr. Chau is a Dad raising a family with four children. His hobbies includes running marathons, cooking and volunteering.

Dr. Chuong Phan was the second President with Hope For Tomorrow, 2012 – 2014. Dr. Chuong is an avid writer and known for his literary masterpieces.

BOARD OF ADVISORS

  • Dr. Hoa Pham

    Dr. Pham is a diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Pham graduated from the Westfalische Wilhems University, Medicine School, Germany in 1988. In 1992, he started his specialty training in Internal Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland and became the Chief Resident of the program. Since 1995, Dr. Pham is in private practice. Dr. Pham served as the Medical Lead on several HOPE dental and medical missions to Vietnam. With his insight and expertise, the HOPE team started expanding its medical ervice offerings and recruitment of more medical professionals into the HOPE volunteer team.

  • Dr. Tara Nga VanToai

    Dr. Tara Nga VanToai is the President of VanToai LLC, a Health and Beauty product exporter/importer. Previously, Dr. VanToai was a supervisory scientist at the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and an Adjunct Professor at Ohio State University.  Dr. VanToai is the Program Director for the Hope MicroFinance Initiative (HOPE MiFi).  Through Dr. VanToai’s leadership, HOPE established a working relationship with the Association VietNam Entraide & Solidarité (AVNES) to provide micro-financing loans in Vietnam. Currently, the HOPE MiFi program has over 40 borrowers. In 2015, HOPE MiFi is expected to introduce at least 10 more borrowers to the program.

  • Dr. Kim Anh Le

    Position: Hope Board Advisory member, Past HOPE President (2009-2010)

    Profession: Urgent Care / Family physician, practice for +25 years in Urbana, Maryland

    Specific hobbies: Traveling, some cooking, music, spending time with families and friends

    Aspiration for joining HOPE: I have been volunteering with HOPE since Day 1, before it was formalized as a non-profit organization in 2005. HOPE members and volunteers have been working hard to provide help and care for under privilege population, both in Vietnam and here in our local communities. Everyone involves with HOPE including myself wish to give back some of our fortune to those have much less than us and HOPE has made it possible. It is a privilege for me to be a part of HOPE and working with everyone to make a significant difference in many lives each day.

  • Ms. Lieu Nguyen

    Ms. Lieu Nguyen is the National Association of Realtors® Global Ambassador to Cambodia, Indonesia and Vietnam. She is the Vice-President of Business Development with Westgate Realty Group Inc. Lieu works with investors here in the U,S, and abroad who are looking to diversify and expanding into the U.S. market. She has helped many entrepreneurs to achieve their dreams in opening businesses and she worked with families in buying and selling their homes in the DC metropolitan area. Prior to working in real estate, Lieu grew professionally with Airborne Express, where she advanced through several international positions to the role of Country Manager for Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar, which she held for eight years. Currently, she is active in the community and serves on multiple boards of local non-profits. Lieu was introduced to Hope For Tomorrow through family and friends. She has been instrumental in helping to orchestrate fundraising campaigns for different projects and International Missions.

  • Dr. Ngoc Quang Chu

    Dr. Ngoc Quang Chu, DDS, FACD, FADI, FPFA, FICD is currently in private practice in Bethesda and Gaithersburg Maryland.

    He is actively involved in teaching. Dr. Chu is a clinical assistant professor at the post-graduate prosthodontics program at the University of Maryland Dental School’s Baltimore College of Dental Surgery, where he obtained his Doctorate in 1988, and subsequently completed his Prosthodontics in 1990.

    Dr. Chu has traveled extensively during the last thirty-two years to provide free dental care to the underserved populations in the United States and abroad. This work stemmed from his first mission to the Dominican Republic, as a dental student in 1987. From that day on, Dr. Chu continued to volunteer and provided probono dental care to the Navajo reservation, the Philippines, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and Egypt through HOPE For Tomorrow, Operation Smile, World Health Ambassador, Vietnam Assistance for the Handicapped, and Health Volunteer Overseas.

    Dr. Chu’s memberships:

    • The American Association of Dental Boards

    Dr. Chu’s activities:

    • Is an examiner for the Commission on Dental Competency Assessments.
    • Was an instructor for the Southern Maryland Dental Society.
    • Is a member in various dental study clubs in the Washington-Baltimore area.
    • Was Vice President for the Vietnamese Medical Society of Northeast America for 10 years.
    • Was President of the Vietnamese Professional Society.
    • Was served on the advisory board and past chair of the Vietnamese American Dental Association – a national dental organization.
    • Is a founding member of HOPE For Tomorrow, a nonprofit organization to promote medical and dental care to the underserved locally and internationally.
    • Is a founding member of VOICE non-governmental-organization that assist in the relocation of stateless Vietnamese in the Philippines and combat the human trafficking in Cambodia.
    • Served on the advisory board for the Maryland Vietnamese Mutual Association.
    • Served on the Coalition of Asian Pacific Americans for Democrats.

    Dr. Chu’s Accomplishments:

    • Special recognition by the National Dental Professional Societies
    • Elected as fellows of the American College of Dentists in 2003
    • Special recognition by the Academy of Dentistry International for international works
    • Inducted as a fellow of the Pierre Fauchard Academy – a dental honor society
    • Inducted into the International College of Dentists – an organization dedicated to international humanitarian works
    • Appointed as treasurer and Vice Chair of the Maryland State Democratic Party
    • Appointed to serve on the Maryland State Board of Dental Examiners by the Governor of the State of Maryland – served as President of this organization from 2012 to 2014
    • Served as President emeritus of the University of Maryland School of Dentistry Alumni association – the first Asian American appointment to the position since 180-year inception
  • Dr. Anh Huu Pham

    Dr. Anh Pham has been practicing Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery in Northern Virginia since 1989. He obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1983, Hospital General Practice Residency in 1984, and specialty in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery in 1989 at Howard University, Washington D.C. Following his training, he taught Oral & Maxillofacial surgery to both the undergraduate students and graduate dentists from 1990 through 1997. Dr. Pham is an active member of the Northern Virginia Dental Society and presently chair of the CPR committee. He is member of the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, the American College of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, International Congress of Oral Implantology, the National Dental Society of Anesthesiology, the American Dental Association, Vietnamese Medical Society of Northeast America and the National Dental Honor Society. While practicing full scope of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in Northern Virginia, Dr. Pham also maintains his part-time teaching position as visiting assistant professor at Howard University, School of Dentistry, Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Pham has strong conviction for Humanitarian Medical-Dental Mission and Community Volunteer Services. He had joined various organizations to provide free humanitarian surgical missions to Philippines, Vietnam, and donates his surgical specialty to local communities and free dental clinics in Northern Virginia.

  • Mr. Ty T. Nguyen

    Ty is the head of Business Development at Year Up, a national non-profit whose mission is to close the Opportunity Divide. His focus is on equipping young adults with the skills, experiences, and support necessary for success in both careers and higher education. In this capacity, Ty leads the organization’s efforts in forging new corporate partnerships with Fortune 500 companies, driving strategy and implementation.

    Previously, Ty held the role of Senior Vice President of Development and Corporate Partnerships at the United Way of Massachusetts Bay. There, he played a pivotal role in crafting strategies and cultivating corporate alliances to promote economic prosperity across diverse communities.

    Before his tenure at the United Way, Ty served as Managing Director at Catchafire, a public benefit corporation dedicated to enhancing the impact of nonprofits and funders through a technology platform connecting skilled volunteers with organizations in need.

    With a career rooted in technology, Ty’s experience includes sales and leadership roles from groundbreaking Internet startups like America Online to telecommunications giants such as MCI-Worldcom. His extensive experience spanning over three decades reflects his adeptness in navigating various sectors while seamlessly balancing mission-driven initiatives with entrepreneurial vigor and astute business acumen.

    A proud native of the Washington D.C. area, Ty earned his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Virginia Polytechnic and State University in 1993, followed by a Master’s in Project Management from the George Washington University School of Science in 2003. He is deeply committed to fostering diverse, innovative, and productive work environments in the organizations he serves.
